bureaucracy

officially woke up at 11.30am - after much persuasion from Juju to have brunch and also woke up from the din that is Juju's laughter while watching Ugly Betty. Hahaha

i planned to pay off my debts with UTM in order to allow registration of next sem's subjects. but things didn't work out quite the way i have planned. we had a long lunch, followed by a GOP meeting at 3pm. so i didn't manage to pay it at the treasurer's office.

for the GOP, they have changed the venue to Europe. London - Paris maybe Tokyo... ooops wrong... London, Paris, Switzerland and Germany. and when i looked at the budget. i can say i am quite shocked and apprehensive. the budget was RM3k per person - minus the fac allowance. oh man, where am i gonna get the money. sure i can pull it out of JPA, but then i also wanted to get a camera for my passion. that amounts to RM5K - basically sucking up all of the JPA... i can work more for KRA so i can get a commision and may be work on the side to get extra... the thing is, i refuse to fork out that kind of money to go on a trip with potentially fun-less people (if you get mad at this statement, then you ARE one of them :P )

the shitty part came after: when i voiced my opinion about the budget, there goes someone with a long-winded story about another trip made by a certain group within UTM which needs way more than what we need to find, and how they succeeded in getting it without help from the usual sources. it was like listening to a war veteran's story. what a boob - it's called bureaucracy, nepotism, and cronyism. of course they get what they want because of those traits. and you are, of course, oblivious to it because you're with them and you're trying to prove a point. don't shit with me about not getting help from above when i KNOW you did - i'm not dumb and ignorant.

and to add insult to injury, i joined them precisely because i wanted to go to India. now they changed the venue, it was like a carpet pulled out from under me. i feel like i want to jump to the other side, if it wasn't for the fact that there are people that i dislike on that side. well, Que Sera Sera then. no point in crying over spilled milk.
